Tax Associate (Public Accounting Firm – Grants Pass, OR)

Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 (DOE) | Schedule: Full-time, Hybrid

Jennie Joiner with The Forum Group PNW is representing a respected public accounting firm in Grants Pass seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Associate to join a collaborative, growth-focused public accounting team. This position offers hands-on experience preparing a variety of tax returns — including individual, business, trust, estate, and nonprofit filings while working alongside experienced professionals who value integrity, accuracy, and teamwork. This role is ideal for someone with foundational tax knowledge who’s eager to deepen their expertise and contribute to a supportive, learning-oriented environment.

About the Role

The Tax Associate supports the firm’s tax team by preparing federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses, trusts, estates, and nonprofits. You’ll help organize financial records, maintain accurate workpapers, and assist with tax research and planning projects. Training opportunities are available, including potential involvement with estate and trust work.

Hybrid Schedule: Work onsite in Grants Pass two days/week during tax season, one day/week off-season (flexible).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 1 year of public accounting or tax preparation experience
• CPA, EA, LTC, LTP, or similar credential preferred (or in progress)
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and time management
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and professional

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $70K–$80K DOE
• Annual bonus up to 6% based on performance
• PTO up to 80 hours annually (plus comp time for extra hours)
