Salary Range : $135,000.00 - $145,000.00 Salary/year

This position reports to EVP/Commercial Banking Portfolio Management.

Basic Function

Responsible for assisting in the origination and underwriting of commercial loan, franchise loan and owner-occupied commercial real estate applications and responsible for managing client relationships.

Essential Duties

  1. Evaluate, underwrite and assist with closing commercial loans, franchise loans and owner-occupied commercial real estate loans
  2. Analyze loan data on new, renewal and existing loans, including data provided by credit bureaus, agent banks, borrowers and Bank credit files
  3. Prepare spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for loan officers on new, renewal and existing loans
  4. Perform credit inquiries for the Bank as requested
  5. Establish, review and update new and existing credit files on a regular basis
  6. Provide technical advice and assistance to Relationship Manager as needed
  7. Work with Relationship Manager on proposals
  8. Prepare loan approval presentations
  9. Work with Loan Operations and/or attorneys to generate and review (for accuracy) documents and coordinate loan closings
  10. Management of client relationships
  11. Negotiate loan extensions and renewals
  12. Respond to client inquiries
  13. Request and review updated financial and operating information. Confirm or recommend loan grade changes based on analysis performed
  14. Covenant compliance testing
  15. Update loan files
  16. Assist in preparation of Watch Report, Board Reports and other reporting as needed
  17. Work with Loan Operations and Deposit Operations to resolve client issues
  18. Fund draw requests
  19. Work with Treasury Management to meet the clients’ cash management needs
  20. Monitor and address past due loans and overdrawn deposit accounts
  21. Additional departmental duties
  22. Attend department meetings
  23. Attend Management Loan Committee and Director’s Loan Committee meetings
  24. Attend Bank Officer meetings
  25. Review information on market trends in commercial lending
  26. Maintain knowledge of underwriting and Loan Policy guidelines
  27. Attend training as required
  28. Participation in CRA activities
  29. Participation in networking events
  30. Nonessential Duties
  31. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Detail orientated
  • Skilled at financial analysis
  • Knowledge of commercial lending, owner-occupied commercial real estate lending, loan policy and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to interact with clients in a professional, tactful and diplomatic manner
  • Ability to collaborate with loan officers, loan operations, and deposit operations to accomplish goals
  • Ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines

Training & Experience

  • College degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent related experience
  • Completion of a credit training program, preferably through a bank credit department
  • Minimum of 7 - 10 years’ experience in commercial lending, preferably with franchise finance and construction lending experience.

Compensation

  • Expected Salary Range: $135,000 - $145,000 annually
  • Salary will be negotiated based on relevant skills and experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
