Job Description

Step into the essential role of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on a dedicated travel assignment in California, Alturas, where your patient-centered care can shape outcomes, comfort, and trust across diverse clinical settings. This is more than a job—it's a chance to apply your practical skills with autonomy and compassion, to mentor others, and to expand your clinical repertoire in geriatrics, medical-surgical, and general acute care contexts. Picture yourself delivering dignified, patient-focused care within a community that values connection, service, and meaningful work. As you care for individuals and families, you’ll also savor the unique beauty of Northern California—vast skies over the Modoc Plateau, forested hills, nearby lakes, and outdoor adventures that refresh the mind and sustain your dedication. The region’s rhythm invites focus and renewal alike, making every day both purposeful and uplifting.

Location Benefits
Alturas offers a welcoming, small-town atmosphere with a strong sense of community and safe neighborhoods. You’ll experience approachable colleagues, reliable support from local healthcare partners, and the satisfaction of making a tangible difference in everyday lives. The surrounding landscape—expansive deserts, rolling timberlands, and access to outdoor recreation—provides ample opportunities to unwind after shifts, from hiking and fishing to scenic drives and starlit evenings. For those who crave broader horizons, this assignment also opens pathways to work in various locations across the U.S. in future rotations, enabling you to broaden your clinical exposure, cultivate adaptability, and enrich your professional narrative while maintaining stability in a guaranteed schedule.

Role Specifics and Benefits
As an LPN on this travel assignment, you’ll collaborate closely with RNs, physicians, and other care staff to deliver high-quality patient care across units. Core responsibilities include administering medications per physician orders, monitoring and recording patient status, providing skilled wound care and basic procedures under supervision, performing routine treatments, taking vital signs, and assisting with activities of daily living. You’ll support care planning through accurate reporting, participate in safety rounds and infection control measures, and educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and symptom management. The role also offers pathways for professional growth—skill enhancement in IV therapy support, wound care techniques, care coordination, and mentoring opportunities for less-experienced staff. Your adaptability in different clinical environments will be valued, and you’ll gain exposure to a broad scope of practice that strengthens critical thinking, clinical judgment, and communication skills.

Compensation and incentives are designed to reward your expertise and dedication. The weekly pay range is $1,559–$1,714, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. The assignment is structured for several weeks, starting December 30, 2025, with potential for extension based on performance, patient needs, and operational demand. In addition to competitive pay, you’ll receive a sign-on bonus and housing assistance to ease relocation and living arrangements, as well as extension opportunities should you wish to continue your journey with the company beyond the initial term. Comprehensive support features are built in, including 24/7 assistance from a dedicated team while you travel, ensuring you’re never alone when you need guidance or crisis support. You’ll also have access to a robust benefits package designed to protect your health, wellbeing, and financial security, allowing you to focus on patient care and personal development.
