Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our team, responsible for routine and emergency service, advanced troubleshooting, machinery installation, and customer training. This position involves significant travel across North America, the Dominican Republic, and Canada, and requires strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency service on machinery.
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting and installation of machinery.
• Train customers on machinery use and maintenance.
• Assemble machinery and perform machine assembly work as needed.
• Travel 70-80% throughout North America, Dominican Republic, and Canada.
• Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
• Complete service and expense reports and manage administrative tasks.
• Generate new ideas, designs, and methods to improve service.
• Read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Utilize PLC, machine control, and ladder logic experience in troubleshooting.
• Employ advanced troubleshooting techniques, including redesigning machine components and making programming changes.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of experience in electro-mechanical troubleshooting on pneumatics, hydraulic, and servo motor equipment, including fields like Food & Beverage, Packaging, and Automotive.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting PLCs.
• Strong mechanical experience and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in MS Suite: Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to perform detailed analysis and employ advanced troubleshooting techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.
• 3 years of experience in field service work is an asset.
• Experience working with refrigerated processes and equipment is a plus.
• Familiarity with hand tools, mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, pneumatics, and control systems.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $43.00/hr.
