We are seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join the U.S. commercial legal team in one or more of the commercial Lines of Business. The position reports to the SVP & Deputy General Counsel, U.S. Sector and is based at Aramark HQ in Philadelphia.
**Job Responsibilities**
Trusted Partner:
+ Provide sound business and legal advice to the business, including regulatory issues, strategic partnerships, contract interpretation questions, risk considerations, and commercial disputes.
+ Establish credibility and trust through effective communication and collaboration.
Commercial Legal Support:
+ Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements. Interpret contracts and advise on commercial disputes.
+ Support sales and operations teams by reviewing and advising on requests for proposal and bid responses.
+ Assist in managing litigation, M&A, collections, and other matters.
+ Work with outside counsel on various matters.
People and Culture:
+ Build relationships to maximize collaboration and ability to influence business outcomes and mitigate risk.
+ Model a growth mindset and promote culture of trusted hospitality.
+ Lead and/or contribute to Legal team or other initiatives as assigned.
+ Travel: As needed (~10%) for in-person negotiations, internal trainings, and regional meetings.
**Qualifications**
Educational background: Excellent academic credentials and J.D. required. Active law license in PA and/or ability to become licensed in PA.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience at a law firm, sophisticated corporate legal department, or regulatory agency. Hospitality experience (in any capacity) a plus.
Skills: Strong analytical, communication and client-service skills. Effective negotiator and collaborator. Proficient in managing legal risk and providing practical, business-oriented advice.
Characteristics: Independent problem solver with sound judgment. Adept at juggling multiple priorities and addressing curve balls. Builds trust with stakeholders. Proactive, responsive, and brings a sense of purpose and urgency. Open to feedback and opportunities to grow. Embraces innovation and Aramark?s hospitality culture.
