This role includes designing engaging lessons, analyzing student data to inform instruction, and maintaining a classroom environment rooted in strong routines, high expectations, and positive relationships. This role requires deep content expertise, strong instructional skills, and a commitment to data-driven practice. The ideal candidate is mission-driven, culturally responsive, and committed to ensuring educational equity for all students.Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Responsibilities of ALL LACS Teachers include but are not limited to: Maintain high expectations for students academic achievement and conduct Reinforce school-wide rules and expectations Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned to LACS and state grade level standardsPlan and execute daily lessons that teach and drive content masteryDevelop and administer a variety of formal and informal assessments to measure students growth and mastery and to evaluate and refine instructionProvide targeted support, scaffolds, and extensions to meet diverse learners needs.Identify students who are academically at risk and initiate effective intervention strategies Monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments.Create a classroom environment that is structured, joyful, inclusive, and grounded in high expectations.Equip students with the critical thinking, analytical writing, and evidence-based reasoning skills that form the foundation of college-level learningEquip students with the skills question, interpret, and construct argumentsCollaborate closely with fellow teachers and other staff members Participate actively in professional development Build strong relationships with students, staff, and families Maintain and enrich subject matter expertise Participate in the Teacher Evaluation ProcessBe a team playerPerform other duties as assignedQualifications; Desired Skills, and Characteristics: Bachelors Degree requiredMust have a valid Massachusetts Teaching License OR take and pass Communications & Literacy, and Content MTEL (Massachusetts Test of Educator Licensure) within 1 year of employment with LACS.
